Technology Standards for Teachers in 2016

On this rainy Monday morning in Dallas, I am sitting at a gate in DFW airport, waiting to board my flight to Washington, D.C. (Thankfully, it's on time!) The team that will refresh the ISTE Standards for Teachers meets there today and I am truly honored to be one of the 12 educators selected to be on the team.

The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has technology standards for administrators, edu coaches, computer science teachers, students, and teachers. The ISTE Standards for Students were refreshed earlier this year and now, ISTE is working to refresh the teacher standards which have not been refreshed since 2008.

Our team meets this week in Washington, D.C., and we will meet there again in early 2017. The new standards for teachers will be released at the annual ISTE conference which is in San Antonio in June 2017. We definitely have a lot of work to do and we could use your help!

If you have a few minutes, please take the ISTE Standards for Teachers Survey.

We would like to hear from a broad range of individuals who have ideas or opinions on what tech standards for teachers should look like. Thanks for your time and for your valuable input!
